Art Around Adams in North Park

This was a really fun 2 mile art and music walk in North Park.  Art Around Adams in North Park has been going on for 10 years and this was the first year DBG participated.  Dan was set up outside Heights Tavern and did a steady business. There was a really art-friendly people and doggy crowd vibe.

And he topped off the evening with a delicious hamburger from inside the Heights.

And Billy did live art inside the Heights.  We arrived after dark since we were taking care of this little guy who needed to be fed every hour.

He slept after dusk and required no more snacks so we headed to the art walk!

P.S.  Jimmy, the hummy, was successfully released 5 days later in the area we first found him.  

Parkway Bar's Spring Artfest

Here's Dan at Spring Artfest.  He looks pretty happy, I think it has a lot to do with being able to sketch and drink beer.

Anime Conji- first time as Exhibitors

In 2012, we attended Anime Conji as guests, this year DBG went as exhibitors.  CosPlay is a huge part of this event as you can see.

We ate lunch outside and were entertained by all the original costumes like the 3 girls above.  Although smaller than some conventions, it's nice to meet and talk to a lot of the artisans and find great deals on original art, jewelry and clothing.

Dan's friend and fellow artist, Omid Maksoos, exhibited as well at this year's Conji.  And my parents came to check us out.

If you're into Anime, this is the place to come.  Role playing, CosPlay after-hours events completed the weekend.

Rolando Street Fair 2013

No Rain.  I repeat, no rain.  Not a cloud in the sky.  This event is notorious for foul weather and subsequent foul moods.  2012's event ended with tents blowing down the street as wind gusts and rain closed out the show early.  Not this year my friend.  Gorgeous weather and wonderful sales for DBG.

Billy Martinez of Neko Press was with us this year doing live art.

Everyone had a great time.  Family and friends and dogs all came by to say hello.  For awhile 2 pugs parked their wagon in our shade.

Boba, our pug, usually makes an appearance but not this time.  Boba is Billy's first son, fur son that is.  We adopted Boba from Billy when he started going through the difficult teenage years.

We tried out our new t-shirt display rack and it worked great.  Dan worked on sketch cards in between sales.
